It All Makes Sense After The Shrooms And The Purple Haze

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I have now been back overseas for somewhere between two and three weeks. In fact, I won’t lie, I have no idea when I came back over. The point is that I’m here, and some time has passed since my last post. Which brings us to the question, “what has been going on for the few weeks?”

The last few weeks have not involved much actual sightseeing and touristy stuff. Not that this is a bad thing however, as it’s really just part of me ending up somewhere and settling down for, oh, a couple months. This brings up an interesting point though, and that is about time. The past few months have been weird to say the least. Time comes and it goes and seems like ages in certain instances, and only minutes in others. Many of you who know me well know that time and I have never really seen eye to eye. Many criticisms have been heard in regards to the amount of “time” that I spent in England. Two months in the UK turned into three months in England. What does this mean? A couple things. One, I’m terrible at sticking to a schedule. Two, I was right all along. (more…)

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Some of my faithful readers may be wondering why the silence in the past couple months. Others may already know. And others still yet, may not have noticed, or may not care. In either case, I feel an overview of the past couple months is in order.

It was Fathers Day, and I was in the blossoming community of Derby having a nice Thai dinner with a lovely English girl who we’ll call.. Mike. No no.. better yet, Apu. An alarm on my phone rings, reminding me that I was supposed to call home to wish my father happy days. Apu mentions that she also should ring her dad. We do so simultaneously, agreeing to only be but a minute. It was on this phone call that I found out that my parents had decided to separate (and no it wasn’t because I was late calling). (more…)

Once I Was Lost, But Now I’m Found

For any of you who checked in on the blog in the past week (and a bit), you would have noticed a shiney little page that said something about a bad database connection (the screen wasn’t really shiney).

Upon looking into this, it seems that my web host (NetFirms) had deleted my database that runs this blog. I don’t know why, pehraps someone was having a bad day.  Their response as to what happened.. ‘tweaking their database’.  Deleting stuff could be considered tweaking I guess.

While we’re talking about my host, I will say that the service that they provide is very competitvely priced, even if dealing with their support people is like banging your head against the wall repeatedly.

An update on my travels/progress to come shortly…
