Soujourn to London

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

One of my friends was doing a climb of Kilimanjaro and was stopping in London for a couple days.

We met up in London, met up with one of her co-workers, and had a super-lovely Thai dinner (which she even bought for me!). After which, we met up with this guy Joe that she had met on the plane. Interestingly, Joe was moving to London for a job that he had been promoted into at Bacardi. (more…)

The Ticks of New Forest

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Before leaving Canada, I had heard and read about this beautiful place in the South bit of England called the New Forest. Sadly, I didn’t think that I would make it there as I saw it as out of reach, as well as I never ended up getting a tent to come along with me.

Funny how things work out however, as my friend Annemarie was kind enough to drive me out into the forest, as well as take me to pick up a cheap 2-man tent. When I say cheap, I mean it. Shirtless in a Cemetery

Found some gardens, but they are all gated, for “keyholders only”. Sadly, they’re really nice gardens as well. To clarify, they don’t mean anyone who’s got a key, it’s got to be a key to the gate.

So I found an alternate the other day. It’s called Brompton Cemetery, and is lovely. It’s quite large, well maintained, and had loads of people hanging out reading, chatting, walking when I first stumbled upon it. It’s a few minute walk, but this is where I set out to this morning. (more…)
